LJY-Netzer is an ideological youth movement. This means we have a set of values that guide everything that we do. There are four main pillars of our ideology: Liberal Judaism, Progressive Zionism, Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World) and Youth Empowerment. Our ideology shapes how we run our movement and events, ensuring that all aspects of the ideology are covered on each event. See below for more details.

Tikkun Olam

We strive to be active in our commitment to Tikkun Olam (Repair of the World) on all levels, from the self (Tikkun Atzmi) to social action on a range of communal and global issues.

Focus of the Year

Every year on our decision making event (Veidah) we decide our tikkun olam focus. Click here to read more about it!

Youth Empowerment

Youth Empowerment is fundamental to the running of our Youth Movement. Every member of the movement is under 25 and we take time to make sure everyone has a say in its running.

Veidah

One way that we really carry out our ideology is through our veidah. Click here for more information on Veidah

Trips to Israel

We offer two incredible trips to Israel. Israel Tour (the summer tour for 16 year olds) and Shnat Netzer (our gap year programme).

Israel and Zionism Education

We are working on building a new curriculum for Israel and Zionism education on our machanot and events.

Israel and Zionism Education

We are working in collaboration with experts in Israel education, building a curriculum that promotes our Reform Zionist position. Bringing together multiple narratives and perspectives, the curriculum aims to instil a strong and nuanced knowledge of Israel as well as a commitment to the Jewish state as an aspiration of justice and peace and Jewish life.
